Scaling New Heights Together

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”
— 1 Thessalonians 5:11, NIV
On December 14, I attended the bouldering event organized by our church’s Youth Ministry Committee. As it was my first time trying the sport, I found it to be an incredibly fun and exhilarating experience.
What made the day truly meaningful, however, was the community. During breaks between climbs, I had the chance to deepen friendships and forge new connections within the church. The environment was remarkably supportive; although we had a mix of experienced and novice climbers, the seasoned athletes were eager to teach and guide us through the various routes.
Knowing I wasn’t alone in my inexperience gave me the courage to attempt higher-difficulty challenges, even when I didn’t succeed. It is clear that these activities—much like the previous night cycling and prawning trips—are intentionally designed by the Youth Fellowship to create a positive space where we can explore new hobbies while learning to serve and encourage one another in Christ.
